ARGOSY UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF ONLINE PSYCHOLOGY, EDUCATION, AND BUSINESS PROGRAMS
(CHICAGO - August 3, 2006) Argosy University has announced the launch of eight new online programs. The University is currently enrolling these five programs for a September 2006 start: Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology degree completion program; Master of Education (MAEd) in Education Leadership; Master of Education (MAEd) in Instructional Leadership; Doctor of Education (EdD) in Education Leadership; and Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership. All of the new online programs are offered through the Argosy University/Chicago campus.
In addition, Argosy University will begin offering three online programs in January 2007: Master of Business Administration (MBA); Doctor of Business Administration (DBA); and Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Leadership.

Argosy University will offer a BA in Psychology degree completion online program. This 120 semester credit program is geared toward individuals who eventually want to pursue a career in psychology and expect to continue his/her education through a master's or doctoral program, and individuals who want a bachelor's degree that has a general applicability to many different careers. The BA in Psychology degree completion online program will prepare students for careers in human services, in entry-level positions such as counselor, case manager, and human resources administrator. Students can choose a concentration in Organizational Psychology or Substance Abuse.
In addition to the BA in Psychology degree completion online program, Argosy University will offer five degree programs online from the University's College of Education and Human Development in the areas of Educational Leadership and Instructional Leadership, both at the master's and doctoral levels; and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, through the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
Argosy University's MA in Educational Leadership and MA in Instructional Leadership online programs are targeted for licensed or non-licensed teachers seeking to improve their professional skills as effective educators, and those wanting to advance their careers by becoming college professors or school principals. The MA in Instructional Leadership program will help students become curriculum supervisors or educational leaders with instruction as their main focus. Each of these programs requires students to complete 36 semester credits.
The doctoral-level, 60 semester credit online programs in Educational Leadership and Instructional Leadership are designed for current mid-level educators seeking additional knowledge and credentials. The online doctoral programs include a residency component for completion of the dissertation. Prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to become highly accomplished leaders of education institutions, students in the EdD in Educational Leadership online program will have the ability to make decisions based on ethical principles and data. The EdD in Instructional Leadership online program is for those students who wish to master teaching methodologies, become curriculum supervisors, or become educational leaders with curriculum and instruction as a main focus. These doctoral programs are offered 75% online and 25% in-residence, with the latter portion including a dissertation.
The EdD in Organizational Leadership online program at Argosy University serves to prepare students to become visionaries capable of driving organizations during times of dynamic change. This 60 semester credit online program is geared toward individuals across education and business, particularly human resources, who are looking to enhance their leadership skills, effectiveness, or career development. The program focuses on the qualities of transformational leadership, preparing students to lead complex organizations faced with an abundance of strategic challenges, such as increasing globalization, changing economies, and societal shifts. This doctoral program is offered 75% online and 25% in-residence, with the latter portion including a dissertation.
