(CHICAGO – August 17, 2006) Argosy University has announced the launch of its Doctor of Education (EdD) in Counseling Psychology online program in its College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. The online program is being offered through the Argosy University/Chicago campus. The 60 semester credit program is currently enrolling students for an October 26, 2006 start and is designed to help students enhance their professional expertise in leadership, supervisory, training, and teaching positions in the counseling profession.

The Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology program focuses students on the application of research techniques to the counseling practice. Typical students entering the program will have a master's level counseling backgrounds in mental health, social work, school counseling, pastoral counseling, family therapy, and psychiatric nursing. The program is offered 75% online and 25% in-residence, including a dissertation and both a 4-day residency and a 3-day residency.
