Meet the Program Chair
Barbara Kelly, PsyD, LCPC, Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, is Associate Dean for Counseling, College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and Program Chair, Counseling Programs (MA in Professional Counseling and EdD in Counseling Psychology) at Argosy University/Chicago. Prior to joining the faculty at Argosy University, Dr. Kelly was Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago, where she also served as Clinical Director of the Evelyn Hooker Center for Gay and Lesbian Mental Health. Dr. Kelly has also served on the staff of several psychiatric hospitals in the Chicago area, including serving as Director of Adolescent Programs at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Kelly is one of the co-founders of the Chicago Training Collaborative: Clinical Practice with LGBT Individuals and Their Families, a post-graduate certificate program of the Chicago Center for Family Health, Howard Brown Health Center, and Horizons Community Services. She is also a co-founder of The Spiritual Life Center of Chicago. Additionally, Dr. Kelly is a member of the associate faculty of the Chicago Center for Family Health. Her undergraduate degree is in music from the University of Michigan. Dr. Kelly is a licensed clinical psychologist and maintains a private practice of psychotherapy in Chicago.
