Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery Services

What is Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery?

You may use the interlibrary loan/document delivery service to have materials mailed to you, including items held by the library. The kinds of materials that may be requested include:

Every attempt will be made to identify sources that are willing to lend your requested item, but not everything that can be cited is available for interlibrary loan. You will be advised by email if any requested item is unavailable through interlibrary loan.

How do I request materials?

Requests may be submitted via the internet on the form provided here below or may be e-mailed to auolibrary@argosy.edu.

How long does it take to receive materials?

Although you may receive some materials in less than a week, we suggest that you allow 10 or more working days for materials to arrive, depending on the nature of the item and whether or not it can be obtained locally. Photocopies generally arrive sooner than loans.

Is this service free?

There is no charge. In some cases additional fees may apply if the requested item is only available outside of our network. In this case, there may be additional charges levied by the lending library (typically $10-20 per item). The librarian can inform you whether there are any additional charges before ordering.

The library will bear the cost of postage for sending materials as well as return postage.

Where do I return the books?

Please mail items to:
Argosy University/ Chicago Library
350 N. Orleans
Chicago, IL 60654

All materials must be postmarked by the due date.

Notice Concerning Copyright Restrictions:
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
